ProjectVision & Mission

Vision & Mission

E-PRAGMATIC network will work toward enhancement, modernization and establishment of in-company training methods of electro-mechanical industry. It will introduce distance learning methods and modern learning contents with the remote experiments from mechatronics, general electro-mechanics and alternative technologies. For evaluation and testing, a cross-over international pilot training will be executed with participants from seven countries.

Developed methods, tested in this manner, will be applicable in in-company training in the enterprises from related fields throughout Europe. Further, a new practical experiences and knowledge at using of the innovative hypermedia e-content and advanced learning environment will be gained, both for the companies and for the educational institutions. We also work toward sharing our experience with other educational institutions and companies in order to encourage them to join the network activities.

User-friendly distance learning and applied educational methods will provide additional motivation for the target groups, specially the older professionals with vocational education, to acquire new knowledge. The training will be also time and location independent and can be as such easy incorporated into their everyday activities. With this E-PRAGMATIC will actively supporting the mail goal of The Lifelong Learning Programme: EDUCATION AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL.

Positive experience in e-training can also increase interest of the target groups in consuming other e-learning content and thus contributing to the extending lifelong learning paradigm. Finally, the international cooperation and exchange of the knowledge, experiences and good practices will be encouraged.

Project's objectives comprehend:

  • Based on the needs analysis, an overview of the knowledge needs for vocationally educated professionals from electro-mechanical industry for six European countries will be prepared. By overall analysis, the global trends concerning knowledge and skills needs in mechatronics and engineering in EU will be identified. Wherever possible, also the future knowledge needs will be predicted based on the development plans of industrial partners.
  • Development of the multimedia, interactive e-learning contents: At least 18 learning modules, with practical tasks and/or practical tasks executed on remote working stations, will be developed and arranged into the modern interactive multimedia e-materials by using the state-of-the-art ICT technology.
  • Implementation of the multi-language e-learning portal to deliver the e-materials and tools for the distance training with remote experiments/remote workstations and provide the framework for the E-PRAGMATIC Community of professionals.
  • A cross-over pilot training will be executed in order to evaluate the project's products. The training will be executed simultaneously in the national languages and in English.
  • E-PRAGMATIC Community of professionals: Open international Community will be integrated with the learning portal in order to enhance the learning and to promote cooperation between the industrial and educational partners as well as other stakeholders.
  • Considering the pilot training results and other forms of feedback, the guidelines for further development and implementation of the developed educational methodology, specifications and learning contents for e-learning in the industry (in-company trainings) will be set.
  • Recognition of the project and its results: Different types of media and the existing partners’ communication networks will be used to inform other stakeholders and wider public about the project and its results.
  • Commercialization of the project products: After the end of the EU funding period, the developed products will be offered also to the other enterprises to fund maintenance of the learning portal and the remote workstations. The development of new modules and the execution of learning modules on demand will be offered.

 E-PRAGMATIC target groups:

  • The employees, professionals (especially from the older age group) from the participating IND partners who have completed the formal vocational or higher education in the field of mechanical/electrical engineering but their knowledge in either mechanical or electrical engineering often proves to be insufficient for their current jobs requirement.
  • The apprentices and the trainees from industrial partners, who have recently acquired a formal education, however are not acquainted with the specialized knowledge and don’t have skills required in their company. They will be able to acquire that knowledge by choosing the learning modules that will be developed based on the needs of that specific company.
  • Other stakeholders who have interest in joining the international Community of professionals and participate in the training and other network’s activities.
  • Regular and part time students from the participating educational institutions. Developed learning modules will be partially incorporated in the regular education program of educational partners.
